BNI Inspire in Bangkok – How to succeed in business in a unique capital city

Now, more than ever, networking is essential to successful business and with BNI Inspire it’s possible to find a positive and supportive team to provide that in a carefully considered and structured environment.

What can be better than to know influential people who can refer you to the experts you need?

BNI is the largest business networking organisation in the world, with more than 180,000 members globally. Last year alone, BNI generated more than US$3 billion in business between its members.

It allows only one person from each profession to join a chapter so the likelihood he or she is the best in that specific field.

Being a member of BNI Inspire is like having dozens of sales people working for you. They will probably have several of your business cards so it’s simple for them to pass on your details and skills with a strong recommendation.

You may remember the concept many parents instilled in their children: What comes around goes around. Well that’s what BNI is about. I help you and you, in turn, help me.

We’ve seen businesses increase from 20 percent to as much as 100 percent because of this simple concept. Some have increased their client base by 50 in their first two years as members.

In 2014, BNI exceeded 8 million referrals in 7,500 chapters with a combined membership of 180,000 in more than 60 countries.

The BNI Inspire chapter is the biggest English speaking chapter in Bangkok and one of two in this cosmopolitan city. We communicate in English and have representatives from 12 nations on board.

BNI Thailand was launched in 2006 by Kollakit Thalerngnawawachart. It now has 24 chapters and about 1,000 members to whom you could automatically also reach out.

Since it’s inception in October 2008, BNI Inspire has given more than 14,000 referrals that translated into 223,395,000 million baht in business deals. Each position in our chapter is valued at 3,300,000 baht per year.

BNI Inspire is an ideal meeting place for newcomers to Bangkok to discover and meet the challenges of setting up a business here. Existing entrepreneurs are also welcome so they can widen the scope of their business. It doesn’t matter how big or small your enterprise is. Individuals as well as representatives of sizeable organisations will be warmly greeted with the very strong possibility of boosting their business.

Our members range from experts at the top of their fields ranging from an accountant, a lawyer, a printer, a website designer and many more talented and experienced professionals, with a good balance of expats and Thai nationals.

It offers members the opportunity to share ideas, advice, contacts and, most importantly, business referrals.

The benefits of BNI Inspire membership include increased exposure to many people and businesses, tools with which to network more effectively, opportunities to participate in many meetings and much, much more.

Members will help people to build their business through a structured, positive and professional referral-marketing programme that enables them to develop meaningful, long-term relationships with quality professionals in Bangkok and other major cities in Thailand and around the world. As our statistics show, we have many examples of successful business stories that were all helped enormously by membership of BNI Inspire.

BNI is built on a set of guiding principles that form the foundation on which members interact, conduct themselves and fulfill their goals, including the beliefs that givers gain, learning is a lifelong requirement, tradition should be combined with innovation, attitudes should be positive and there should be accountability and personal recognition.

For those who want to enjoy these benefits, BNI Inspire members meet every Friday between 6.45 and 9.30am on the 6th floor at Compass Skyview Hotel,12 Sukhumvit Soi 24, Klongton, Klongtoey, Bangkok 10110. That’s just a 50-metre walk from Phromphong BTS.

The benefits of networking with BNI Inspire – Claire Souchet’s story from LR Paris

At LR Paris we love a challenge and to use our innovative design and branding skills in diverse ways. This has been recognised in our outstanding list of clients ranging from Hilton hotels to Harvard University and the Guggenheim to The New York Times.

My friend and BNI Inspire associate Pam heard I was looking for even more real estate contacts to further develop our already highly successful business.

It so happened she has another friend who knew someone who works in real estate development in Thailand, a country thriving on new-builds including condominiums and offices featuring exquisite modern furniture and features. The two Thais were also members of Bangkok’s BNI network.

Naturally, we saw a huge opportunity. A bit of research revealed Thais love new and exciting branded designs in their homes and offices, so we made contact and met up very soon afterwards. Fortunately we were the sort of team he was precisely looking for. And, rather excitingly, it was for an order worth more than a million baht.

Admittedly, as is always the case with such big deals, it took a few months of work and negotiations, but we finally signed on the dotted line, with big smiles all around.

The beauty was, everything went through so smoothly that more orders started to pour in. A lovely long-term relationship developed with our client, who was very appreciative of our efforts and who gained a lot of face in his homeland.

Naturally one good turn deserves another and we were able to refer Pam to the purchasing department of her favourite brand.

And that’s precisely how it works at BNI: givers gain.

“It’s another way to do business. Win-win business is the future of the business world,” both Claire and Pam agreed.
